I love this app. I wouldnt want every photo I take "sketcherized", but some it really brings home the emotional flavor of the photograph. Super easy to use, which is a must for low-techies like myself. And I cannot argue with the cost. And Ive only worked 3 photos at this point! Wow…lots of fun ahead!

While you could do almost anything this app does in Photoshop or similar software, its handy to have around for those quick creations without having to load the big photo apps. (Kinda like using Adobe InDesign to write a quick note for a family member!) Ive found it very useful for bringing to life otherwise lousy photos as well as making a well composed photo even better. When using this app you have to have some trial and error on finding the correct picture to use as its NOT for every picture you may want to use. It tends to work best on a well balanced original in regards to lights & darks, color and detail. I do agree with another reviewer that shiny areas show up dark in the finished sketch. I had a photo that included shiny holly berries that I ended up rejecting due to the resulting sketch displaying them as having rotten spots. I find that some faces appear older in the final sketch due to the inversion of some of the lights and darks, esp. facial hair. I also find the outlines of many objects tend to be too thick in the final sketch, much like a thin marker was used rather than a fine pencil (even using the apps adjustments). With some improvements this app could easily slide up to 5 stars. As a suggestion, I would like to see more controls for fine tuning the results. Currently it is very basic in the user adjustments. Overall, if you want potentially great results quickly without all the bulk (and expense) of the big editing apps this app is for you!

I find this little app just excellent for what it does. I think the pencil sketch renderings are very good. I am exploring “painting” photographs with color and texture and I find this app very useful. I make several versions of a photograph using various settings with this app and then use those versions as layer masks in Photoshop. By painting in and out of the masks I can expose different colors and textures. As a side note, I am just recently in the past several years coming over to the Mac from Windows machines. I really like these very affordable, specific use apps available in the app store. This app is very useful. Great App!!!!

This app is just great! it does well with people pictures. The pictures look very nice and people come out really nice with good exposer. Some pictures come out better with this program when your lighting is off and you just can not fix properly. Thanks!!

On a whim, I purchased this app. It’s fine really. But if you are an enthusiast and own photoshop elements, then don’t bother. Simply convert to black and white, add some noise, use a colored pencil and adjust the contrast and presto. Essentially, there’s nothing wrong with this app; it takes about 4 steps in photoshop but with this app, you have a simple one step click. Of course, the original image in the app store presentation was selected out of a background using something like a photoshop-like program to begin with.

Hello, I think I have revived this wonderful app before, this is by far my very favorite! Not because of the price, but the stunning results for such ease. Now do not except it to do everything of course, but it can do wonders with certain photos, just experiment!

There are many ways and a variety of software available to create a sketch effect. But I found this to be effective and quick and easy to use. It is a great time saver and depending on the quality of the photo - I have had good results.

I have been trying to get just the right sketch conversion for a long time. As a seasoned Photoshop user, I have gotten it to where I’m satisfied, but never truly happy with it. This app gives me EXACTLY what I’ve been searching for. Thanks guys…you hit a home run with this one.

It would be so nice if this app could remember the last folder you saved in.

I absolutely ADORE this app!! It is fantastic, easy to use and I could stay on it ALL DAY!!!!

This application does a much inferior rendering of a photo into a sketch than does My Sketch on the ipad and it was free versus $5 for this one. This application is very limited in selection of types of sketches as compared to My Sketch and is not worth the $5. Recommend My Sketch.

Before buying I thought the program would be much more extensive with options, but it’s fairly simple. However, it does exactly what I wanted it to do so no complaints and well worth the price.

I downloaded this just today. I already love it! I’m a visual artist. Sometimes I just need a visual ‘x-ray’ of a photograph before I can draw my composition. This is perfect!

How come I cannot just drag a picture from Photos and drop on the main screen as instructed?

This will not download and I assume thats because of the updated OS X and looks like no more support for it by the company.

i tried to download and it wouldnt let me. it charged me and i dont even have the program

Thought It was one I already had on my iPad. This one is not clear at all.
